Design and ideation of crypto and fiat casino platform
Duration of project: JAN 2021 - MARCH 2022
Executive summary
I was employed to ideate and help designing a crypto and fiat based casino platform. Initially the platform was build for b2c. I joined team of 4 project mangers, 4 marketing specialists, 2 CRM managers, over 10 developers, Senior UI and Graphics Designers and a 3D Designer. The teams were located between Sofia Bulgaria and Dublin Ireland, I oscillated between both offices and worked closely with all the teams for specific features and projects. I designed the interactive prototype and helped with the final design together with UI designer and the 3D designer. The platform was so successful that the business decide to change their model and sell the platform as off-the shelf for B2B2C platform.
The assignment
I was hired as lead UX Designer to cover the full design lifecycle - from early architecture and interactive prototyping through to high-fidelity UI handoff, working alongside the UI and 3D designers on final visual execution. The scope included:
- Account and identity - registration, KYC verification, a verify-as-needed flow, cooling-off periods, account banning and self-exclusion, and full account deletion.
- Casino product - slots, live casino, sports, and other game sections, with game lobby layouts, thumbnails, and interaction patterns.
- Player financials - crypto deposits and withdrawals alongside fiat payment methods.
- Bonus and promotions - welcome bonus flows, bonus availability and consumption logic, wagering mechanics, and promotions pages.
- Personal profile and support - self-service profile management, live chat support integration, and a full support journey.
- CRM surfaces - transactional and marketing emails, banners, activation flows, and full user journeys across the player lifecycle.
The solution
I started with a discovery phase before any design work began. Conducted meetings with stakeholders to understand the product vision, the MVP scope, and the business goals. Key questions at this stage: which markets the platform would operate in, what currencies and crypto assets it would support at launch, and what the regulatory environment looked like for those territories. From there I mapped the target user segments. Casino players differ significantly by geography, payment preference, and game type. Understanding who we were designing for - and where they were - shaped decisions across the entire product, from onboarding friction to payment method priority to responsible gambling requirements.

I broke the full product scope into deliverables, journeys, and requirements. These were mapped into deliverable sprints. This gave the wider team a clear delivery roadmap and made it possible to coordinate design work across project managers, CRM, marketing, and development without losing track of dependencies. I designed the interactive prototype that shaped the initial product architecture, giving the team a working reference before development began. From there I drove the product through to a high-fidelity, developer-ready state. The platform was built mobile-first. From registration to a crypto withdrawal, and any user journey in between- was designed end-to-end, including all edge cases, error states, and compliance-required messaging.

Outcome and business value
I was able to complete the project producing full fledged casino with crypto deposits and withdrawals, full KYC verification and verify-as-needed process. Created slots, live, sport, and other casino game sections, created creation of account, deletion, cooling off periods, banning, bonus availability and consumption, personal profile view with self-support and chat support, Promotions and welcome bonus sections and full user journeys with emails, banners, activation, wagering etc.
The platform launched as a complete MVP. The product performed well enough that Live Interactive changed course entirely. What started as a B2C product became an off-the-shelf B2B2C platform sold to other operators.
